This website is a personal collection of information: for and about the teachings of Christ, revealed through: scripture, prayer, repentance, and following Christ.
The reason for the name "The Jilted Truth" began from a scripture reference:
This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
At the time Peter gave this sermon (speaking in the Holy Spirit ), the religious people and Jewish leaders of his day heard and saw Jesus, but they rejected Him. Many of the things Jesus taught and did were contrary to what they were expecting from a religious leader and of their coming savior. For this reason, they sought to kill Him and silence Him.
Today - in our generation in America the message of Christ has spread far and wide to nearly every city and town in our nation.
The person of Christ is the same today as He was back in the day of this sermon from the apostle Peter.
Many in America have known and heard the message of Christ, but have fallen away from serving Him - they have become jilted like one who has quickly and without emotion cast off the lover of their souls.
The mission behind The Jilted Truth is quite simply: out of service to Him and love for one another, to tell the whole story of Jesus, His teachings, and the way in which He taught men could be saved, and to call men back to Him through these.
Our main audience is those who have been exposed to the Christian Faith in whole or in part, and calling them to Christ, as well as to hold fast and remain in Christ.
Many of the things Jesus said and taught were hard to bear and misunderstood, which caused many to reject Him.
We want to be faithful in sharing both: the pleasant teachings of Christ, and the unpleasant ones that can help us see the condition of our hearts and break the darkness that keeps us from drawing near to Him.
See that you do not refuse him who is speaking.
For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven.
At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” This phrase, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of things that are shaken—that is, things that have been made—in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain.
Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.
